My favorite option is to create my own cocoa butter recipe. There are so many options, and you know exactly which ingredients are going into your product.
- In a double boiler, melt the coconut oil, mango butter, cocoa butter, and olive oil on low heat
- Once melted, remove the mixture from the heat and place it in the refrigerator. The mixture should remain in the fridge for about 15-minutes. It should be firm, but not solid
- Remove from the fridge and mix in the essential oils
- Continue mixing until the mixture is light and fluffy
- Store the mixture in an airtight, glass container
- In a double boiler, melt the shea butter, cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, and coconut oil on low heat
- Once melted, remove from the heat and place in the fridge
- Allow the mixture to cool until it is firm, but not solid — about 15 minutes
- Remove from the fridge and mix in the essential oils
- Whip the mixture until it appears light and fluffy
- Store the mixture in an airtight glass container
