Coconut cream exists of two ingredients – coconut and water. It is made in the same process as coconut milk.

One way is to place coconut flesh and water in a blender, blend it as much as possible and then strain the result.

You should place all the liquid in a container and let it sit. It will separate into two parts with the coconut milk on the bottom and the creamier coconut cream on the top.

So coconut cream and milk have exactly the same ingredients but the cream has a higher fat content so is thicker.

Using Coconut Cream For Skin

Coconut cream is quite thick so it makes it easy to work with compared to coconut milk. It can stick quite well too.

You can use it by itself. Moisten your skin and then simply rub it directly into your skin especially if you want to use coconut cream for dry skin or want a coconut cream face moisturizer.

However, it can work best when used with other ingredients. I like to use the best coconut cream for face by making a face mask.

It is very similar to my coconut milk face mask here but with coconut cream instead. This can stick a little better, and it’s a little easier to work with coconut cream.

To use this face mask:

  1. Rub it onto your face
  2. Leave it for 15 minutes to dry
  3. Rinse if off with warm water and a washcloth rubbing in a circular motion

I find the slower and more massage-like I rub my face when rinsing the mask off my face, the better my face feels afterwards. It’s super soft.

I recommend making sure all products are room temperature before making this recipe or it can be cold to put on.

Coconut Cream For Hair

You can also apply coconut cream for hair in a similar way as to your skin. Rub it into your scalp and through to the ends of your hair.

Wrap your hair in a towel and leave it for 15 minutes before washing it out with your usual shampoo and conditioner. It may take a few rinses to get it out as the coconut cream can set quickly.

Depending on how long your hair is, you’ll need half a can to a whole one.

Conclusion

I hope you’ve found this guide to using coconut cream for skin useful. I like the coconut cream face mask, but I would prefer to rub coconut oil directly on my skin than coconut cream as I find it easier and I get better results.

However, coconut cream does make a great hair mask and I recommend that.
